Our
Story

In 2022, Li-Fe was officially founded when we, Aoife and Lilli, after working creatively together for 3 years, decided to turn our shared passion into an official Dance Collective. Based in London and Copenhagen, we are able to explore internationally, reaching a wide range of people. We are passioned and enthusiastic about our work, with workshops and performances taking place all year-round. Together we enjoy exploring new and creative concepts, pushing the boundaries for dance and involving the general community. You are always very welcome to contact us.

Aoife McAleese

Aoife began her journey as a dancer at the age of 3, training in Cecchetti ballet with Eve Leveaux and participating in regular performances. With a growing enthusiasm for contemporary dance, Aoife furthered her dance experience at DanceXchange in Birmingham. She graduated in 2022 with a First Class Honours degree in Contemporary Dance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. Her dedication and enthusiasm throughout the course was recognised as she was awarded the Sylvia Bodmer Memorial Fund Award for Outstanding Achievement in Choreological Studies.

Aoife is a passionate artist and sculptor, enjoying combining both art and dance to create interesting new works. Her work is influenced by the natural world, from which she takes constant inspiration.  Aoife attributes this to having grown up in rural Derbyshire with regular time on the Welsh coast and with family in Ireland.  She is now keen to develop further as a dancer, growing her own voice as an artist and sharing with others the joy of dance. She regularly teaches and is committed to community dance projects across London where she is currently based.
